Round two brought the Murphy family down from Portland!
Kenzo loved playing with Lauren and Ryan. He talked about Ryan at preschool. All. Day. Long.
Super smokey afternoon at Meeks, but the little Japanese moon was out to brighten up the day ;)
The Murphy's went to the adventure course at Granlibakken - super fun!
Too bad you have to be five years old to go. Kenzo was super bummed.
And they're off!
Ladders, steps, bridges, zip lines - great adventure time!
After a morning of kayaking & lunch, we hit up the ice cream stand.
This is Lauren's "after" shot...the "before" pic was of an enormous sundae!
Girls' night out!
Dannielle and Julie.
Me and Kristi.
So fun to get together with old friends!
Missed out on a lot of photo ops during dinners and beach time, but it was a great visit with everyone!

August Visitors - Round One
Good thing there are 31 days in August - we needed and used every one of them for all our visitors and fun!
In no particular order....
Grenside family in from London!
Max.
Monkey see, monkey do.
A little shade on the hot beach.
Kenzo and Lola, hand in hand.
Dinner at the Grenside/Morris home.
"Swimming" at the pool. The lifejacket gave Kenzo all kinds of self confidence. Perhaps too much?
Pretty much the same photo from this time last year!
Lola and Nick.
Yes, Lola was again jumping off the diving board!
Warming up after their swim.
We celebrated Jen's birthday, complete with a cake that was kid approved!
Met up with Kacie, Nick & their adorable Quinn.
Scarlet and Quinn born just two months apart.
The iPad is a great babysitter...
Taking the kids for their first hike up to Eagle Rock.
Phew! We made it!
Snack break time!
This was one of the last clear days on the lake.
The American and Rim fires brought a lot of smoke up to Tahoe, and we have had our windows closed for almost three weeks now.
Nick kept the kids occupied so they didn't notice how long the hike was!
A dip into Meeks Bay.
Note the smokey haze on the east shore...
Nick and his girls.
A little putting practice at Dollar Point.
We took the kids to mini golf earlier in the week - hot, but fun!
Lola was more into decorating with the flags than actually putting.
A little pre-birthday celebration on the Grenside's last day in Tahoe.
Silly Lola!!
It was an amazing three weeks with the Grenside family. We'll have to visit them in London soon!
After leaving his jobs and apartment in the Bay Area, Takemi came up to chill in Tahoe for a few days before his move to Portland!
Breakfast at Firesign - note the dense smoke and the fire truck parked in front of the cafe. We actually sat right next to the fire fighters, which had Kenzo on his best behavior!
Water line work in our neighborhood.
The guys are so nice and friendly and even let Kenzo "drive" the excavator!
A free score from the Grenside/Morris neighbors!
Just needs a little TLC and some extra bolts and we're good to go - sweet!!

A skier for all seasons
We have been thoroughly enjoying our time with the Grenside family, in for a few weeks from London!
It's great to see the baby buddies together again and to be joined by sweet Scarlet too.
One highlight was water skiing the other morning - what?!
Fearless Lola had gone a few days before, and after watching the video, Kenzo was ready to give it a try!
Wetsuit on - ready for action!
Lola, Max, Jen & Kenzo loaded up and ready to go!
It was a grey morning at the Sunnyside Marina, but the water was flat and it was warm enough.
With a quick run-through, I drove the boat while Lee coached the kiddies. He was so sweet, gentle & encouraging with everyone!
Lola was first to go, of course. Comfortable and steady - this girl's got it down!!
Despite the nervous look on his face, Kenzo was eager to try after watching Lola.
Here he goes!!!
Max went last & did awesome too! Jen and I were so proud of our little rippers!
Max and Lee headed for home.
Successful morning on the water! What a fun adventure for our little buddies.
Will try to upload the video of Kenzo skiing - it's pretty cool!

Dr. G
Monday we met up with Noah, Jessica & Baby Morgan and went to our first dentist's visit!
Dr. G calmly explained what he was going to do to, and showed the boys each instrument. He was so kind and gentle with the boys!
Kenzo got his teeth cleaned with the "funny brush that tickles!"
Let's count those teeth!
Kenzo was such a good patient, listening to Dr. G's requests and doing everything he asked. Yay for small victories!
