Thankful for so much

The ability to remember or recall little details is slipping. I'm constantly reminded of this because Kenzo is SO GOOD at remembering EVERYTHING! He will bring up things that happened days, weeks, or months ago. Normal? Perhaps, but I like to think it's pretty extraordinary.

"Be careful, Mommy." I hear from the back of the car as we're driving.

"Where are you, mommy?" from Kenzo's room every morning.

"You okay, mommy?" when I bump into something.

Hmm, sounds like Kenzo is learning to be a very compassionate person, or maybe that's all I choose to remember.

We had a very quiet and mellow Thanksgiving day. We spent time at the park, running around with Kenzo's friend Chase!

Thanksgiving dinner at home, just the three of us.

Kenzo loved sneaking bites of turkey as Eric was carving it.
"Cheers!"

Yes, that's rice instead of mashed potatoes.
Licking the beaters...
Someone was really excited about pumpkin pie...
Going to town!

Met up with Nick, Kari & Laila at Squaw!
Kenzo really wanted to try the "jumpoline," so of course, we stood in line!

Loved it!

Now the tricky part is to NOT do the jumpoline every time we go to Squaw!
Day two at Squaw Valley. Chillin' by the fire pits.

No jumpoline, but we did take a ride on the Funitel!
Kenzo's 3rd season's pass.
Day three at Squaw Valley.

Watching the tram coming down the cable.
"Here it comes!"
Walk to the tram.
Load the tram.
Unload the tram.
Unpack the bag.
Dress the kid.
Walk outside.
Put the kid on skis.

It's good I stayed behind to take photos and play pit crew - phew!
Eric and Kenzo took five laps on two different chairlifts - awesome!
Our little shredder!

We met up with a couple of friends...

Chase and his parents, Kenny & Lisa...
And Steve, Janet & Willy joined the posse.

We all had dinner that evening at Kenny & Lisa's house - what a great way to cap off the boys' first weekend of skiing together!
Our little skier dude having a post-ski snack break.

Just another weekend...

A quiet Saturday morning started with Kenzo and daddy making waffles!
He really likes to help in the kitchen!
We woke up to a beautiful morning and a layer of fresh snow - yeah!

This monkey hat from my mom cracks me up!
Sandbagged by daddy...
And the sunglasses are staying on without a fight now - victory!
Our little snow monkey!
I'm finally in a picture!
The new snowsuit is a bit roomy, but pretty technical and super cozy!

Maybe it will last for more than just one season?
We went to Colton's 2nd birthday party on Saturday, and guess who was front and center when it was time for cake?
Colton and Kenzo getting down with some cake!

The party was out Rideout Community Center, so the kids got to play and run around as much as they wanted.

Even with all the excitement and sugar, Kenzo crashed out as soon as we got home.
Happy birthday, little buddy!

Such a gorgeous Sunday!

We picked up Kenzo's ski gear today - he's all set to rip it up! Let's hope we get enough days to justify the season-long rental.
Tried to get some nice photos for our Christmas cards...
This one is not a contender.

Finger is just missing the nose, but it's too close for comfort.

Michelle & Axel

Michelle and Axel (almost 10 months old) stayed with us for a couple of nights - so fun!

Kenzo was stoked to show "Baby Axel," well, everything!
The boys having a little dinner together.
Getting some fresh air at Common's Beach.

It was so nice to catch up with Michelle and get to re-live the life of a 9 month old baby.

Kenzo only called Axel "Baby Axel" which will be funny when they're grown up and he's still calling him "Baby Axel." And he called Michelle "Shi-melle!" I think he was doing it for the laughs.
