Memorial Day Weekend

Lots of stuff as we wrap up the month of May!

Kenzo was excited to share his new t-shirt and shark tooth necklace from Uncle Takemi's trip to Hawaii.

Getting better each ride on his new bike!

A quick visit with Baby Axel in South Shore.

We have reached a new level of Lego organization...

After school play date with Noah before a t-ball game.

These kids have the life!

I got to go on a few class field trips this week.

The Science Festival at the Truckee Airport was a hit!

Noah, Kenzo & Ebbett.

NOT our new "dog."

Mateo in the bubble station!
Then we drove to Loyalton to visit a working farm. The Loyalton High School students showed us everything from horses, to pigs, to cows, to worms!

Ryland, Bartek, Kenzo & Noah.
We had a great picnic lunch after the farm tour.

These kids have the life!!

A quick trip to Oakland for the long weekend was much needed!

Korean dinner...

Relaxing at our Airbnb spot in Montclair...

Dim sum breakfast...

Dim YUM!
Loving my Philz Coffee and the hot weather!
We kind of do the same things every time we're down there, but it's just nice to do nothing and be a tourist!

This was a us last year, same place!

We took a tour of the USS Pampanito, docked at Pier 45.

I had the audio tour iPod and it was so interesting listening to the different stories from the men aboard this sub during WWII.

Kenzo loved climbing through the small hatches between compartments.

Eric could barely fit!

There were a couple of submarine veteran docents on the ship that were answering questions.

Kenzo asked one man "were you scared on the submarine?"

I guess he got the vibe that it was a scary place to be at times.
We met up with Morgan, Gayle & Auntie Tami in Japantown for a delicious dinner at Takara!

Great to catch up with Morgan while she was home before heading back to Johns Hopkins for her summer internship.

Gayle, Auntie Tami & Eric.

Round two.
A quick stop to visit Uncle Takemi - he's been working every day!
Eric and his mini me.

More May Merriment

The weather has momentarily made a change for the better. We were quick to jump on a sunny day opportunity and made our first official bike ride of the season after school last week.

Home in time for a quick Lego session...

And then more T-ball...

With Coach Daddy at first base...

Nothing better than snack time after the game!

After years, I finally broke down and got Kenzo his first professional haircut.
Way better than the mommy hack jobs!

Little League Day at the Reno Ace's game...lots of fun, and lots of junk food!

The mommies and their 12 minutes of freedom and beer!

Beautiful day at the park, even though we were kind of far
from the action on the field.

Kenzo, Oskar & Haakon.

Eric and Kenzo soaking up the last of the sunshine.

As soon as the sun went down, it got cold!

All the teams paraded around the field, giving high fives to the fans - totally cool!

Perhaps our last ski day this season...on May 15th?!
That would be respectable, I think.

A good excuse to end ski season would be the start of biking season....
with a new bike!

Spring Season in Tahoe Means...

Spring season in Tahoe means...T-Ball!

It also means the first weekend of t-ball gets cancelled due to snow!

Nonetheless, the Pirates were ready for their season...maybe not the most skilled team, but definitely the cutest team!

Kenzo, Colton, Paul & Noah.
Kenzo getting a hit!

Kenzo and Ryder.
More team cuteness!
Nice action shot of Kenzo fielding a ball!
Spring season in Tahoe means.... Spring Cleaning!

Neil gave us a huge load of Legos from his classroom.

This is just half of the haul...
Spring season in Tahoe means...

Our tiny patch of flowers finally emerge!
Spring season in Tahoe means...

Kodomo no Hi. I went to Kenzo's classroom on Children's Day to do an art project with the kids.

I was overly ambitious with my project, and was in a full sweat during the 20 minute activity!

Hats off to teachers everywhere for all the work they do with these little people day in and day out.

They came out pretty cute, but also pretty far from the intended outcome as shown on Pinterest!
