Adios Abuelos!

Kenzo and I made a quick trip to the Bay Area to say "hola" and "adios" to my parents as they left for their trip to Spain! It was a fun filled two days with them & Uncle Takemi. Kenzo loved the sights and sounds of city life - we need to get our little country mouse out of the mountains more often...

We met up with Gayle, Morgan & Auntie Tami for a delicious and over abundant Japanese dinner! Kenzo ate amaebi heads, tobiko & tako, to name a few.

Happy Mother's Day

A beautiful Mother's Day Sunday today - mellow and relaxing. Friends over, breakfast out, park & beach time, and watching golf. And great to hear from so many friends & family on this day too! Kenzo has certainly made the motherhood journey fun & exciting, far outweighing the struggles & frustrations that I've had.

We had Jessica, Matt & Noah over for dinner on Saturday night - the boys had a great time playing!

We ended the afternoon at the beach - it was so warm and perfect out. 

The funny part about this is that we did the
EXACT SAME THING last Mother's Day! 

...and he's wearing the same shorts one year later! 

He may be able to wear the same size pants, but the many other physical, developmental & mental advances in one quick year are astounding. 

My little gourmand

I've had so many proud mom moments during Kenzo's 2 years, 8 months, and 7 days with us - he's astounding us on a daily basis with so many new "tricks." This one is a great one:
Using chopsticks, slurping noodles, and thoroughly enjoying the flavor of a good curry sauce! Dinner time is hit or miss sometimes, so I'm happy that he ate one of my favorite meals with such enthusiasm....

 

What happened to April?!

Well, April has come and gone so quickly, partially due to my shoulder rehab filled days!

At least the weather has been gorgeous and we've been spending a lot of pre-season time on the beach!

Friends Nick & Jen welcomed #3 into their family last month too! Scarlet will come out to Tahoe this summer and we can't wait to meet her.

Kenzo is recognizing letters, numbers, shapes and colors everywhere we go. He's got a great imagination and vocabulary, with pretty good pronunciation too! He's also becoming very automatic with using "please, thank you, you're welcome, sorry" which is AWESOME!
