London calling

We have been home sick this past week - no fun at all!

One afternoon, while on a good dose of baby Tylenol, Kenzo felt good enough to make a call....to London! I videoed Kenzo, and sent it to Max & Lola. Then Nick sent me a video back of the kids watching Kenzo's video. Lost? Just watch - pretty cute because they really think they're talking to each other :)

Happy 36th birthday, Takemi!!! I can vividly remember the day you were born...dad picked up me and Kara from the neighbor's house, and we went to the hospital to see our tiny baby brother. We went out to lunch afterwards and talked about you the whole time! I remember crying because I was so happy, and thinking it was weird to be crying about being happy.

And, happy 14th anniversary, Kara & Henry! 14 years, two homes, two daughters, lots of adventures and many more to come - congratulations are in order, especially in a world of 72 day long marriages!

More September stuff

Just some pics from the last week. It's been so quiet and a bit boring without all the activity we've had the past month!

Kenzo frolicking on the lawn - SO glad we put it in this summer!
One day at the park, Kenzo saw some big kids standing up on the swings, so of course he had to "try??"

He's got pretty good balance, and he was able to pump himself and stay swinging for a long time!

"Corn! Corn!"

I think he likes corn.
Always eager to "help" dad with stuff around the house!
This reminds me we need to start shopping for winter gear soon!
On Sunday, we went to Skylandia Park for nanny Kacie & Nick's wedding reception!

Kenzo got all dressed up in his new outfit from the Kremer family - ADORABLE!
"Bear! Bear!"

He's always on the lookout for bears, real or wooden.
Nanny Kacie and dirty Kenzo!
The happy couple! Congratulations!!
Today at the park...
We had a surprise visit from Michelle and baby Axel (almost 8 months)! What a cutie...and the baby is pretty sweet too :)

And today (the 10th here, but the 11th in Australia) is our friend's, Eva's, first birthday!!

It seems she's enjoying the pony we sent to her!

Happy birthday, Eva!! We can't wait to see you again soon.

Happy 2nd Birthday!!

Two years old today!

Happy birthday to our mostly happy and funny, sometimes shy or crabby, pretty coordinated and slightly cautious, truck loving, avocado hating, dirt finding little boy!
The morning started off with opening presents.

This one, from the Alvarez family...

"EXCAVATOR!!!! Working....guys...cone...dig...back up...big scoop..."
He was super stoked with the wrapping paper and card too, even before getting to the truck!
Books from the Neves family.

Books about trucks, of course. Duh.
Even though we had a celebration the previous day with friends, Eric insisted on a mini cake on the real day. Can't really argue with that, right?

Our neighbor, Judy, came over for singing & cake and had a gift for Kenzo too...an excavator on a flatbed truck (sitting just behind the cake).

Man, everyone knows Kenzo's addiction!
And one last present from Australia...

Eva has the same one (in pink, of course) so she and Kenzo will be rolling along in sync, even if on different continents.

Thank you, everyone, for the birthday wishes. Hard to believe it's been two years already!

Tahoe Visitors - Round Three, Part Two

More fun with the Grenside family this week!

Crawfish hunting at Dollar Point beach...
Brave Max holding a feisty catch!
BBQ at our place. The boys thought clinking their Corona bottles was super funny!
High class fun, a la Matises home!
More birthday "practice!"
It's amazing how everyone likes a little candle in their dessert!
SO happy.
Our old nanny, Kacie, and her fiance, Nick, came over too! I don't know if the kids remembered her from their baby days, but they sure do love her!
A quick stop at the Best in the West Reno Rib Cook Off for lunch.

Man, it's so hot there.
Thankfully, there was a great fountain area where the kids got to cool off!
Someone was having a great time!
A little snack break.
Max's frown turned upside down!

Eric and Nick doing their "funny face!"

A little chill time via iPad and "Peppa Pig."

Off to Alpine Meadows Stables to try a little pony riding.

Everyone was up and riding, but only after seeing Lola get on her pony first...fearless!

Kenzo getting his stirrups adjusted...do they really go that short?!
Crazy proud mommy moment!

Lola confidently astride her steed!
Max and Jen bringing up the rear!
Everyone made it!
Lola on round two...she just can't be stopped!

While Lola finished her second pony ride, Kenzo & Max explored...what else...the tractor!
A dip in the pool to wash away the stable dirt.

Kenzo is now plunging his whole face into the water & not coming up choking every time.

He's also loving the daredevil antics shown here, yelling "Lookit! Lookit!" to anyone within earshot!
Back to the Morris family home for lunch and a potty break.

It wouldn't be the same without buddies, Lola & Max, so we had an early birthday celebration, complete with cake made by mom!
Pretty darn stoked.
Our big boy.
So proud he blew out the candles!

We had the best time with Jen, Nick, Lola & Max...as well as with the rest of the Morris family. It's truly upsetting they live in London and not in Tahoe. We'll see you guys again soon!
