The weekend started with a quick visit to Meeks Bay to swim away all the grime from day care!
Saturday morning, Eric & Kenzo got started early with yard work...
Kenzo "helping" the guys...
Getting closer...
Lawn done. Instant gratification! Wow.
Kenzo calls it "golf course!"
Sunday we had Alan, Yuki, Mim, Nick & Kiyomi over for brunch, after they attended Nick's brother's wedding in South Lake Tahoe over the weekend.
Kenzo and Kiyomi had a great time playing together, but someone (wearing the blue shirt) has work to do when it comes to sharing!
Strawberry popsicles!
Cutie pie Kiyomi, who will be a big sister soon!
Cutie pie Kenzo, who will stay an only child!
And of course, no weekend would be complete without some heavy equipment.
This one, fortunately, is parked right down the street!

Summertime!
We have been having a great summer so far with lots of beach time.
We met up twice last week with Christie & Guy and their two daughters Avery (3) & Bailey (4 months)!
Little Bailey with her sweet carbon copy smile from her daddy!
Kenzo and Avery having a snack...
Mmmmmm!
Spam musubi = the best beach snack EVER!
Kenzo is getting great use of an early birthday present: an awesome sun shirt from Lola & Max!
There is a slight obsession these days with trucks, tractors, fire engines, etc.
Luckily this one is parked in our neighborhood for the summer!
Having toys like this at daycare - fueling the obsession!
With new helmet on (which he actually likes), we hit the park with Kenzo's little bike.
And the results below...
And finally, a photo from tonight's antics....we made a pit stop at the D'Lish annual golf tournament! Kenzo loved running around the grass and throwing the ball in the hole. Eric got to play...we just went home and had pizza.

I love NY
The Matises family hit the road again!
Oscar spent the week at Dave & Cathy's place.
Working our way down the highway, we made a stop at William Land Park's Funderland in Sacramento, a favorite from Julie's childhood.
Kenzo loved the rides and watching the other kids...it was a sweltering day at 104 degrees - gross.
Kenzo didn't mind the heat as long as he was driving!
Almost there....
Three flights and long layovers! Kenzo did great, thank goodness. We have ourselves a good little traveler!
Finally made it to the Matises farm in Ferndale, NY!
Kenzo immediately jumped on the Twister tractor for a ride around the grounds.
Family portrait on the tractor.
No farm would be complete without "ponies!" Kenzo's new favorite word.
Max running up to see all the commotion going on.
Another "pony!"
These horses got a lot of carrots this past week!
Kenzo got some great trucks to play with while staying in NY.
I'm pretty sure he preferred the real ones, though!
Kenzo showing Max his ambulance.
A morning session at the track. Art & Lynn's horse didn't qualify for the race this time :(
The weather was perfect! A beautiful evening sky complete with rainbow.
We spent one afternoon at Lake Superior.
Kenzo and grandpa in the Le Baron - stylin'!
Donuts, donuts, donuts!
Soft serve ice cream at a roadside stand.
Yummy thin crusted NY style pizza was a big hit!
Note the fold over technique. Eric was very proud!
A nice dinner out on Kauneonga Lake. Yeah, you try to pronounce that one.
Art, Julie, Gary, Lynn, Kenzo, Eric & Brant!
Our last night we went to Patty & Brant's house since they're closer to the airport.
Kenzo splashed around in their stream...and of course, drove the sit-down lawn mower!
We had a fabulous dinner in their cozy home with their friend Nora.
Candles were lit on the cake for Kenzo's favorite song - let's see if I can load the video.
Story time with Auntie Patty.
Three flights and long layovers..we made it home after another long travel day.
We had an awesome pit stop at Uncle Alan & Auntie Yuki's place for a quick dip in the pool and dinner before heading back to Tahoe.
Needless to say, someone is taking a great nap this morning from all the adventures!

Happy birthday, America!
Happy 4th of July! We had a great time at the Dietz's annual party - tons of kids, lots of friends, and so much fun!
We didn't stay out to enjoy the fireworks over the lake...definitely next year!
Meeks Bay time over the weekend. Perfect weather and we even got in the lake!
We sure do love this spot!
Kenzo and daddy went to the annual pancake breakfast at the Meeks Bay fire station.
Pretty stoked to see the fire engine up close!
Ready for action!

Tractors, mowers & boats
Kenzo is REALLY into trucks and tractors these days.
He was helping Eric in the yard this week, digging and clearing out a spot for a landing for stairs.
Loving the lawn mowers at Lowe's!!
This weekend, Eric poured the landing, and we all left our hand prints in the concrete.
"Messy!"
Today we were treated to a boat ride down to Emerald Bay! Thanks to the Hyams family for picking us up and for the great afternoon on the water!
Mason & mommy Robyn.
Watermelon break in Emerald Bay.
Milton & Eric enjoying the gorgeous day.
"Angry Birds" Mason & Keelan.
We spotted two giant nests atop dead trees with birds...eagles or some other big birds up there - so cool!
Kenzo driving with Milton.
It took a little while, but Kenzo finally warmed up to the bumpy boat ride!
MS Dixie in the background. Emerald Bay was lively with lots of boats on this busy weekend.
More watermelon...
Yep, a pretty awesome day!
Safely back at Meeks Bay!
