Play Date!

Kenzo and I met Alex and baby Cruz today to soak in some vitamin D before it snows next week! Although the boys are 4 months apart, they're almost the same size and got along great!

Bath Time!

When Kenzo was just a newborn, friends suggested a nightly bath to calm & soothe him and as a start to our bedtime routine. We even got the "calming" lavender-infused bath oil to add to the water. This is the result of months of our "relaxing" ritual for Kenzo...

Yeah, maybe not so calming, but definitely entertaining! After we're done, the bathroom looks like it was hit by Shamu at Sea World!

Kenzo's New Girlfriend

Friends Van & Eytan had baby Eva on Sunday, September 11th! She arrived in great health and it sounds like the Australian national health plan is treating everyone quite well! 

Eva is sporting a swaddling blanket from Kenzo, which was one of his favorites as an infant!

We are anxious to meet Eva when we travel to Australia next spring....Kenzo will be happy to have a new playmate, even if she lives on the other side of the world!

Happy 1st Birthday, Kenzo!!

Twelve months old!

The year has passed so quickly, and I'm thankful that I've kept up on this blog to see where it all went!

We reminisced about "this time last year" and all the big and little milestones Kenzo has reached so far.

We sure have one happy, healthy, funny little boy - not quite a baby any longer as he is doing so much on his own now!

We opened a couple of presents from Grandma and JiJi Tsuruta & Auntie Kara, Uncle Henry, Naomi & Maya this morning.












Kenzo LOVES climbing the stairs! It's a great workout for him and good for his coordination...this kid is ON THE GO! And yes, that means mom or dad is climbing right behind him!

Yeah okay, so I went a little overboard for Kenzo's birthday party. But we haven't had friends over in such a long time and it was a great excuse, right?

We had a great gathering for the little guy's first birthday with a ton of friends and even more food, Hawaiian style!

All the kiddies got their sugar kick....ha ha, what they don't know is that they were eating applesauce sweetened, "healthy" cupcakes!

Kenzo got too overwhelmed by all the attention and birthday cheers and ended up only having one small bite of his cake before bursting into tears. Don't worry buddy, you can have more tomorrow!
