Gentlemen (and babies) prefer blondes!

Kenzo already knows how to charm the ladies! He gazed at Hilary the whole time she came to visit and kept her under his spell.

At the breast feeding class in Truckee, Claudia popped in to say "HI" and chat with Kenzo today. Again lots of gazing and cooing...from both the holder and holdee!

I'm holding miss Lola Grenside in the photo. Jen rocked the class as she easily wrestled both Lola and Max for a nursing session. I guess us with just one little person have nothing to complain about after seeing that!

Today marks four weeks for little Kenzo, who is far from little anymore. Weighing in at 8 pounds, 2+ ounces today and just about out of his newborn sized clothes and diapers. Egads - where does the time go?!

3 weeks

You all were right...it goes so quickly. We are in week three with Kenzo and can't believe how much he's grown and changed already, almost right before our eyes. Chubby cheeks and a double chin are all good when you're three weeks old, eh?

Last week we had more visitors for Kenzo: The Bell family (and Duke), Dannielle (with yummy enchiladas), Fran (speaking Japanese to Kenzo), and The Grenside Family. 3-month-olds Max and Lola have not been awake at the same time as Kenzo yet, but the three are soon to be BFF's! We are so happy to have Jen and Nick living in Tahoe for the winter and to have other new parents to commiserate with ;)

Kenzo's growing fan club

Last weekend, Cathy came over to say "HI" with a delicious dinner too - thank you!! We so wish Kenzo could be in Cathy's kindergarten class someday - she's the best teacher and I know he'd remember her the way I remember my favorite elementary school teachers.

Holly also came over for a quick peek at the dude. He loved gazing into her eyes & stayed awake the whole time...

Last night we had a visit from the Hyams family: Robyn, Milton, Keelan, and Mason! Robyn and Milt made a gorgeous, fresh-caught Mackinaw dinner for us - so nice to sit down and eat like civilized people. The boys got a peek at their new buddy, and I think Mason is glad he's not the littlest one any more!

LL Cool K

Today's visit from the Saxe family was awesome! We were delivered a beautiful dinner, complete with Ben & Jerry's and a bottle of champagne...what more do you really need? Is this a cooking competition?! Everyone has outdone themselves and we are full and happy because of it :)

Kenzo was in heaven as the girls, Madeleine, Julia, and Ellyse, all took turns holding him very sweetly and gently. They even read him a story: "Pajama Time!", which was a big hit with the Saxe girls when they were little.

Thanks for coming over and for the chance for Kenzo to meet his future babysitters!

More visitors for Kenzo

Today we had a nice visit from El, who says babies cry when she holds them. She must have worked her wizard magic on Kenzo because there were no tears, just looks of wonder and amazement! Thanks for the chocolaty peanuty bars of heaven too!

Later, our neighbor Judy came over with a scrumptious dinner, complete with salad and dessert - we are stuffed! She gave Kenzo lots of experienced cuddles and took some photos too.

Auntie Kara, Uncle Henry, and cousins Naomi and Maya sent Kenzo some newborn clothing today. Everything we have is just a little too big yet for the dude, so this was much needed....crazy to say when you see how much stuff we already have for him!

We can't thank everyone enough for all the love and support. And cupcakes and pate, Jen & Derek :)

Day 6

Leslie and Janet came over to meet the dude today. It's so great to have such experienced friends to help get through the humps (won't even call them hurdles, as Kenzo is really quiet easy) of day to day life with a newborn.

And thank you for the great Bell Family lasagna dinner last night, Kristi....we forgot how much we love M'Lou's recipe!

Oscar is not overly impressed by his new brother. A couple of sniffs and one lick is all he could muster.

Happy Birthday, Eric!

Happy birthday, Eric...I mean, "Daddy!" When Kenzo turns 42, we will be 84. Harsh. Eric said that he got the perfect 7 lb. present for his birthday this year :)

We had a beautiful dinner delivered tonight from Kelly and Chaney - wow, thanks so much! Carrot cake too - Yeeesss! We are excited for the day when Chaney can babysit Kenzo...she's already got the touch!

Early Arrival

On Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 10:56 am, we welcomed our baby boy into the world! After a short labor but a long delivery, little Mr. No Name Just Yet arrived in great shape - 7.3 pounds, 19" long and healthy! We have spent the day just chillin', getting some rest, and the best care from the amazing nursing staff at Tahoe Forest Hospital...they ROCK! Our first visitor was longtime friend, Bill Dietz, followed closely behind by Jen & Derek Hagglof. We were so happy to have our friends over to say "hi" and loved all the phone calls, emails, and text messages of "congrats!"
